This scholarship has been established in honor of Emlen H. Jones, beloved pediatrician, father, husband, grandfather, and friend who set an example of giving back to the community through his service as a physician. The scholarship acknowledges his love of his family, friends, and patients, and his committed service to the community as a whole.
Purpose: $750 scholarship awarded to two graduating high school seniors who are patients of Amherst Pediatrics.
Selection Factors: Academic achievement, community service, character, leadership. Intention to attend 2 or 4-year college or university with study in a field of science, sustainable energy, or medicine.
The scholarship will be awarded directly to the winning student to help defray the cost of tuition, books, fees, or supplies.
