Farmers Markets:
A Benefit for You and the Community

There are many ways to get involved in your community this summer. One of the most delicious and healthy ways is by visiting your local farmers market! There are many perks to buying local goods at these markets not just for you, but also for your community as a whole!

• Fresh fruits and vegetables: Farmers markets offer fresh, locally grown produce from farms throughout the Pioneer Valley.

• Support local farms: By buying goods from local farms you are helping to keep them in business and you are helping to ensure that fresh, local produce is available and affordable to all.

• More than fruits and vegetables: In addition to fresh produce, you can also find fresh meats from local farms, fresh bakery items from local artisans, as well as other homemade goods, such as hand creams, candles, and more.

• Stretch your dollar: Not only are SNAP Benefits accepted at Farmers Markets, if you swipe your EBT card for $10, you’ll get $20 worth of tokens to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables.
